Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the etrailer invisible base plate with removable arms on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. So this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed. And overall, it's got a pretty good look to it in the fact that the crossbar is actually hidden behind here and it really does look pretty decent on the Jeep as it doesn't protrude past the bumpers, but yet you can still get to all of your attachment points with no problem. So you're hooking up your safety chain loops. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmasters Direct Connect base plate kit with removable arms.There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle; you'll need your base plate, which is the connection point on your vehicle that you'll attach your tow bar to; you'll need to your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar; you'll also need your diode wiring, which will take all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights at the back of your vehicle; as well as your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brake pedal in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home to help you come to a safe stop.And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. The majority of it's going to be hidden completely underneath our bumper behind our under shield here with just our connection points poking through. On each side you're going to have your connection point for your removable arms that will attach to your tow bar as well as your end sticking out where you can hook your safety cables to. When you're ready to use your tow bar, the removable ends will simply insert, twist, and then lock into place.Once we've got them installed, we can then attach our tow bar to the end here. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to help you install Roadmaster's Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms on our 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited.It's gonna be one of five main components in a flat tow setup, the other four are gonna be your safety cables, your tow bar, your braking system and your wiring.Our base plate is gonna be attached, directly to the chassis of our Jeep Wrangler. It's gonna give us a solid connection point between our tow bar and our Jeep so we can safely flat tow it behind our RV.As you can see here, with our tabs removed it's gonna maintain a nice clean look on the front of the vehicle when we're not flat towing it. When we're ready to flat tow it, we're gonna take our removable arms, we're gonna slide it in sideways. You're gonna have a spring-loaded pin and I'm gonna twist it 'til it locks into place. more

Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit Installation - 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Speaker 1: Today, in our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit, part number DM9519336.Here's what our base plate is going to look like once we have it installed. This is going to be our attachment point that's going to attach our tow bar to our Jeep, so we can safely flat-tow it down the road. It is going to be a tabless design, so we're going to have a section that's going to go into here and lock down. We're going to simply rotate these covers and pop them out, so when we do want to tow, we can take our arms, we'll put them in and rotate them till it goes into a locked position. Then we can secure it with a pin.Whenever we're not towing, we'll pull the pin out, we're going to rotate the arm, and it'll slide out. Our arm is actually going to be bolted directly on to our tow bar, which has a few benefits. more
